Alexandra Pobiedzinski, Founder & Artistic Director

An active performer, choreographer and teaching artist, Alex founded danceETHOS is 2009. In addition, she is Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Lehigh Valley Dance Exchange (LVDE), transforming her passion for the arts into the cultivation of a thriving professional dance scene in the Lehigh Valley.

Alex graduated summa cum laude and a member of Phi Beta Kappa from Muhlenberg College, where she earned her BA in dance and media and communication. With over 15 years of teaching experience, she believes in an artistically and technically rigorous teaching philosophy where safety and inspiration are the cornerstones of building the next generation of artists, and, in keeping with this philosophy, founded the danceETHOS Apprentice Company in 2017.

Alex is currently an adjunct professor of dance at Cedar Crest College and choreographs for the CCC MERAKI Dance Company. Her award-winning choreography has been featured at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, American College Dance Festival, SpringUP Dance Festival, Dance EXposure, Green Space in Queens and the Ailey Citigroup Theater in Manhattan. A recipient of the 2017 Linny Award for Emerging Artist of the Year, Alex offers workshops throughout the tri-state area and continues to work with various companies and artists in the Lehigh Valley and beyond.

Kasey Celona
Kasey Celona

Kasey began her dance training at the age of 3 at Brixham Danceworks in South Berwick, ME. After performing and teaching throughout high school, she continued dancing at Muhlenberg College where she earned a BA in dance and certification in elementary education. Kasey toured with Shelley Oliver's student tap ensemble and was an original member of the DanceMax Moving Company project. She has been with danceETHOS since 2016 and currently teaches at a local elementary school.

Melissa Diehl
Melissa Diehl

Melissa began her dance training at the age of 5 at Saucon Valley Dance Conservatory in Hellertown, PA. After graduating high school, Melissa attended Penn State University, where she was a four-year member of the Lionettes Dance Team and studied modern, jazz and tap. She received her BS in marketing with a minor in Dance in 2013. Currently Melissa is a dance teacher and choreographer in the Lehigh Valley. She was thrilled to join the company in 2017!

Rebecca Glassman
Rebecca Glassman

Rebecca began dancing at age 4 at Dance Attitudes in Marlboro, NJ. She was a dance major at the Freehold Performing Arts Center at Howell High School and continued dancing at Muhlenberg College, where she received a BA in sociology with a minor in dance. She received her master's degree in social work from Bryn Mawr College. Rebecca currently teaches at En Avant School of Dance in Bethlehem, PA, and she was thrilled to join danceETHOS in 2014.

Rachel Halkias
Rachel Halkias

Rachel began her dance training at the Kathleen A. Magyar School of Dance, where she acquired a foundation in classical ballet, jazz and modern. After graduating high school, she attended DeSales University and Temple University, where she continued training in ballet and modern. In addition to being a member of danceETHOS, Rachel works on other Lehigh Valley-based dance projects.

Jackie Moyer
Jackie Moyer

Jackie began her dance training at age 9. She continued her training while attending DeSales University, where she received her BA in dance in 2007. She currently teaches and choreographs for Nardi Dance Studios in Easton. Professionally, Jackie has danced with several companies in the Philadelphia and Lehigh Valley areas, including ContempraDance Theatre and Melange Contemporary Dance Company, with whom she has performed both nationally and internationally.

Morgan Rakay
Morgan Rakay

Morgan began her dance training at age 3 in Charleston, WV, and later earned her BFA in dance from the Honors Tutorial College at Ohio University and MA in dance/movement therapy from Drexel University. Morgan has trained and taught internationally, including in Ghana and South Africa. Dancing and choreographing with danceETHOS since 2009, she has also danced with Azaguno international African drumming and dance company and Pink Hair Affair. She currently practices therapy in Philadelphia.

Amanda Urbanski
Amanda Urbanski

Amanda grew up dancing in Northeastern PA and received her BA in dance from DeSales University. She has interned at the Dance Place in Washington, D.C., and her professional performance experience includes the Williams Center for the Arts, Bach Festival, SpringUP Dance Festival, and Dance Place. She was hand-selected to perform at the Baltimore Dance Invitational and her own choreography has been presented at the Emerging Choreographers Concert and LVDE Dance EXposure showcases.
